Richard Bebout, Ph.D., earned his doctorate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has been affiliated with Community Connections since 1987.  There he currently holds the position of Clinical Housing Director and is an active member of the Men’s Trauma Workgroup.  Dr. Bebout has contributed more than 20 articles and book chapters on mental health services and frequently trains and consults in the areas of supportive housing and men’s trauma services. Dr. Bebout also maintains a private therapy practice in Washington, DC, and suburban Maryland.

Lori Beyer, LICSW, MSWAC is a supervisory trauma clinician and lead trainer at Community Connections a private, not-for-profit agency providing a full range of human services in metropolitan Washington, D.C. Ms. Beyer specializes in providing workshops, trainings, and ongoing supervision and consultation to agencies and clinicians nationally on issues related to trauma-specific and trauma-sensitive service provision.  Ms. Beyer has over 13 years of experience working with adults who are dually diagnosed with a serious mental illness and substance abuse disorder, and have histories of homelessness and violent victimization.

Roger D. Fallot, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist and Director of Research and Evaluation at Community Connections, a private, not-for-profit agency providing a full range of human services in metropolitan Washington, D.C.  A graduate of Yale University (B.A., M.S., and Ph.D.), his professional areas of specialization include the development and evaluation of services for trauma survivors and the role of spirituality in recovery.

David Freeman, PsyD has worked with vulnerable and disenfranchised consumers at Community Connections for the past 13 years. He has been a case manager, a team leader, a program director, and is currently responsible for quality improvement in the care of over 500 consumers. Dr. Freeman has been involved in the development of a men's trauma recovery program for the past 8 years. In addition to his work at Community Connections. Dr. Freeman has a private paractice where he specializes in psychotherapy with adolescents.

  Steven N. Gold, Ph.D. is a professor at the Nova Southeastern University (NSU) Center for Psychological Studies and founder and director of NSU's Trauma Resolution & Integration Program (TRIP). Dr. Gold has written many articles for professional journals and chapters in edited volumes on abuse, trauma, dissociation, and sexual compulsivity, and made numerous presentations on these topics at national and international professional conferences. Dr. Gold is also and established author, publishing several many sucessful books.

Robert Hull has spent many years providing trauma services to school systems including being the primary traumatologist for a major urban school system. He has trained hundreds of school personnel in trauma response and has been honored by the Maryland State Legislature for his work in this area. Bob has been trained in the Sidran Risking Connections model as well as being trained by the National Organization for Victim Assistance and  the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation. Robert has over twenty-five years experience working in school settings.

  Ruta Mazelis is one of the program managers of NCTIC focused on consumer and survivor program development. Ruta is a trainer and content specialist for the Sidran Institute for Traumatic Stress Education, Publications, and Resources. Ruta is a researcher, consultant, service provider, and policy advocate around trauma-related issues and is experienced in providing substance abuse and mental health services. Her expertise impacts local communities, national systems of care, and international projects as well. She serves on the National Trauma Consortium Board of Directors.

  Kathleen O'Hara received her BA in psychology from Antioch University in San Francisco , California and her graduate degree in Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies, also in San Francisco . She studied with Marion Rosen at the RosenMethod Bodywork Institute learning how our bodies hold the experiences of trauma. Kathleen speaks from personal experience, after the death of her oldest son in 1999 she has began the journey of grief and recovery. She has transformed a devastating experience into something that will help others not only survive trauma, but find a new life.

  Terri Pease, Ph.D. has more than 20 years of experience in settings from preschool to university. She is the Adult Trauma specialist for the Domestic Violence and Mental Health Policy Initiative and also serves as Director of Research and National Trainer at SPINUSA. Dr. Pease has focused on helping agencies and practitioners respond to issues of trauma and abuse in disability services, child welfare and mental health settings, and on enabling and broadening collaborations between victim service providers and those working in other areas of social services.

  Larry Smyth, Ph.D., received his doctorate from Michigan State University in 1977.  He is a clinical psychologist with the Veterans Administration Maryland Health Care System, and he is also in private practice in the Baltimore area where he specializes in the treatment of posttraumatic stress disorders and other anxiety disorders. He is a member of the American Psychological Association and the International Society of Traumatic Stress Studies.  He has numerous publications and presentations in the trauma field.

  Patricia Wilcox, LCSW is the Vice President of Strategic Development at Klingberg Family Centers in New Britain, Connecticut. Her career in child and family treatment has included the state child welfare system, the Superior Court, private practice and Newington Children’s Hospital Day Treatment. She specializes in treatment of traumatized children and their families and has presented extensively on this topic.
